While the story continued smoothly for most of the time, things started to get complex right after Mikasa beheaded Eren, giving back a series of memories from the past to Armin and the others. In their long conversation, Eren revealed astonishing truths to Armin. He disclosed that he orchestrated the Rumbling to make his friends the saviors of the world. Eren clarified that Ymir Fritz, bound by her love for King Fritz, sought release for centuries, and shockingly, the key to her freedom turned out to be Mikasa. Although the reason remained a mystery, we believe that she acted as a motivator for Ymir to sacrifice her love for the sake of humanity.

Ultimately, Eren unveiled his plan to part ways with Armin, erasing their conversation's memories temporarily. Armin thanked Eren for shouldering the world's hatred on Paradis' behalf, knowing the price Eren had to pay. Finally, when Mikasa emerged with Eren's head and Armin's memories returned, everyone had lost their Titan powers, and just as Eren expected and wanted, his friends became a symbol of heroism who saved humanity from the wrath of the Titans.

A letter from Historia tells them about the Yeagerists group protesting against Paradis. Eren sacrificed his life to bring peace into the world by extinguishing the power of the Titans from the world, but the series showed that till the time there are humans, wars and conflicts are sure to take place. The size of the battle might have decreased, but wars would never cease to exist. The scene shifts to Mikasa, sitting beside Eren's grave and crying while remembering him. As a bird tries to take her scarf away, she feels Eren's presence with her.
