COLUMBIANA COUNTY MUNICIPAL (2024)

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, cases against Corey Andrew Cantwell, 25, South Washington Street, East Palestine, were bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony pandering obscenity buy procure possess obscene material and misdemeanors of assault and obstructing official business. On March 10 in East Palestine, Cantwell allegedly slammed a woman to the ground and struck her, then disrupted her attempt to call 911 and fled on foot after she was able to make the call. He was in possession of a cell phone on March 10 in East Palestine that police executed a search warrant to search on March 19, finding images of child sexual assault material.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 6 for Larry Gene Moore II, 50, North Canton, charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and misdemeanors of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Moore was accused of requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $140 and traveling to Salem on Feb. 16 for the meeting. When taken into custody, he allegedly possessed a capsule containing methamphetamine.

A preliminary hearing was set June 6 for Tiffany Woolley, 37, Vine Street, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony violation of a protection order for allegedly entering the home of a protected person on May 30 without permission in East Liverpool.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 6 for Steven Watters II, 46, with addresses listed in Youngstown and on Depot Road, Salem, charged with fifth-degree felony failure to stop after an accident and misdemeanors of driving under suspension, no seat belt and reasonable control. Watters allegedly fled the scene after an accident on Depot Road, Center Township on May 25 and allegedly admitted to driving the vehicle and fleeing. A passenger also fled and was injured with a broken nose.

Ryan Butler, 38, Desellem Road, Lisbon, was fined $600 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 156 days suspended and credit for 24 days served, for assault, endangering children, and criminal damaging for grabbing a man from behind by his neck and starting to choke him, then punching him several times and kicking him twice on March 6 on a Spillway Road, Lisbon property. A deputy sheriff’s affidavit said Butler initially had on a black ski mask, but it came off during the incident. The affidavit also said this happened while the victim was holding a 4-year-old child, causing him to push the child into the arms of a 13-year-old child witness. The defendant allegedly threatened the victim and also backed into the victim’s vehicle. A charge of aggravated menacing was dismissed and he was ordered to have no contact with the victims.

A pretrial was set July 29 for Logan Jones, 33, Oak Street, Lisbon, charged with criminal endangerment, theft and criminal trespass for a trespassing incident on May 22 on Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon when he allegedly threw another man’s cell phone on the ground, causing damage to it, and also allegedly stole the internal component of the phone. He did not have permission to be on the property, which was posted with a private property no trespassing sign.

A charge of contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child was dismissed against Nicole Vlaiku, 48, Bandy Road, Alliance, for an incident Aug. 6, 2023 in Lisbon when she was accused of providing a THC vape pen to a 15-year-old child.

A pretrial was set Aug. 26 for Timothy Boggs, 31, North Pleasant Drive, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly threatening a woman with a large crow bar before grabbing her by the throat and pinning her to the hood of her vehicle on state Route 154, Middleton Township on May 4.

Brandon Green, 31, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 24 days suspended and credit for six days served, for drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Green was accused of possessing drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop May 23 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set June 10 for Courtney Robinson, 40, Steubenville, charged with assault and criminal damaging for allegedly assaulting a Dairy Queen employee after coming behind the counter of the East Liverpool restaurant and knocking over some items, causing damage on May 29.

Robert McKay, 54, Market Street, East Liverpool, was fined $400 and sentenced to 20 days in jail, with credit for two days served, leaving 18 days still to serve, for two counts of criminal trespass. McKay was caught at Market Street Loft apartments on Jan. 4 this year and Oct. 23, 2023 after being previously trespassed from the property.

Amy Desimone, 53, Balley Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $550 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for resisting arrest, drug paraphernalia and marked lanes. A felony charge of tampering with evidence was dismissed at the request of the state. During a traffic stop Feb. 13 in East Liverpool, Desimone allegedly attempted to hide a pipe while failing to follow police commands to stop, then started to pull away while trying to reach between her legs on the inside of her pants. Apparently the pipe was falling down her pant leg.

A pretrial was set June 10 for Gavin Linden, 22, Crestview Road, Leetonia, charged with aggravated menacing, harassing a police dog, criminal mischief, criminal damaging and disorderly conduct. The charges all stem from an incident May 28 in Franklin Township when he allegedly made threats against a woman, put a large amount of dirt in a hot tub, damaged a truck belonging to a man, kicked multiple items at the woman as he was being taken into custody, then spit throughout the sheriff deputy’s cruiser he was placed inside and beat on the kennel and screamed at sheriff’s K-9 Jimmy, causing the dog distress.

A pretrial was set July 30 for Lisa Cunningham, 21, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly stealing six items valued at $23 from Dollar Tree in East Liverpool.

Zack Jacobs, 36, Glasgow Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 for refuse disposal prohibition for dumping a deer carcass with a used feed bag on Dec. 9, 2023 in Madison Township.

A pretrial was set Aug. 19 for Brenna Hodos, 40, Woodland Avenue, Salem, charged with drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a clear pipe with burnt residue on May 28 during a traffic stop in Salem.

A pretrial was set July 23 for Jared Ault, 39, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs his offense, OVI refusal first offense, reasonable control and obstructing official business for allegedly refusing to exit a patrol car while intoxicated on March 23 in Columbiana after a traffic stop.

A pretrial was set Aug. 26 for Keilia Sine, 33, McDonald Street, East Liverpool, charged with OVI second offense, speeding and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A pretrial was set Aug. 29 for Christopher Stauffer, 41, Alliance, charged with theft for allegedly stealing $361 worth of items from the Salem Giant Eagle on March 10.

A pretrial was set July 23 for Kaden Davis, 25, Carbon Hill Road, East Palestine, charged with miscellaneous wildlife for allegedly advertising deer meat for sale on April 1 online.

A pretrial was set July 25 for Hadden Pistory, 20, Marble Road NE, Kensington, charged with a stop sign violation and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle for allegedly denying having a weapon in his car during a traffic stop when there was a firearm with a loaded magazine concealed in the glove box in Lisbon on May 12.

A pretrial was set June 6 for Jessica Hooper, 36, Moundsville, W.Va., charged with possession of drug abuse instrument and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing two syringes and a glass pipe in St. Clair Township on March 15.

Sean Alvarez, 31, state Route 7, New Waterford, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served, for having weapons while intoxicated. He was ordered to complete 50 hours community service and to have no firearms. Alvarez had a loaded firearm in his possessed after consuming alcohol in a bar in Salem on Jan. 13.

A pretrial was set Aug. 27 for Locke Goodman, 46, Mulberry Street, East Liverpool, charged with return and payment of tax for allegedly failing to make a city income tax return in East Liverpool in 2023 and 2024.

A pretrial was set Aug. 29 for Clarence Poon, 36, Atlanta, Ga., charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense and restricted tinted glass.

A pretrial was set Aug. 22 for Michael Murphy, 71, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI first offense and speeding.

A pretrial was set Aug. 20 for Bryan Veglia Jr., 32, Ruth Street, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and a tail lights violation.

A pretrial was set Aug. 1 for Melanie Felger, 51, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, charged with OVI first offense.

A pretrial was set Aug. 13 for Brian Walker, 33, Youngstown, charged with OVI first offense and speeding.

A pretrial was set Aug. 27 for Jason Vantilburg, 52, Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with failure to signal before turning/stopping.

A pretrial was set Aug. 26 for Daniel Elliott, 49, Washington Street, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

A pretrial was set June 10 for Michael Allen Beaver, 36, Opal Drive, Wellsville, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Aug. 5 for Paul Lee Beaver Sr., 54, Wooster Street, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.

A court trial was set June 10 for Thomas Switalski, 55, McCracken Road, Salem, charged with no seat belt.

A pretrial was set Aug. 13 for Steven Cunningham, 54, Sixteen School Road, Irondale, charged with driving under suspension.

Timothy Phillis, 43, state Route 164, Columbiana, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Wilbert Faulk, 39, Church Street Extension, Salineville, was fined $150 for driving under suspension and failure to control.

Le Shyra Unique Chanel Smith, 22, Cleveland, was fined $130 for speeding and no seat belt. A driving under suspension charge was dismissed.

Paula Criss, 51, Waddell Street, Leetonia, was fined $50 for speeding.

James Davis, 49, Westward Way, Lisbon, was fined $150 for speeding.

David Arthur, 61, Enon Valley, Pa., was fined $300 for driving under suspension and a tail lights violation. A seat belt violation was dismissed.

Kiley Edmonds, 21, East Martin Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle, amended from failure to yield.

A pretrial was set June 4 for David Hendrix, 43, Bergholz, charged with driving while texting.

A pretrial was set July 29 for Nicholas Anderson, 30, state Route 7, Lisbon, charged with no valid license, OVI first offense and no seat belt and menacing. Anderson allegedly issued a threat on May 24 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set July 9 for Dakota Trimnel, 21, Chester, W.Va., charged with reckless operation.

A pretrial was set Aug. 22 for Christopher McConville Jr., 27, state Route 14, Beloit, charged with traffic control devices.

Jerry Crossland II, 30, Steubenville, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

Daniel Bocek, 31, Weirton, W.Va., was fined $250 for driving under suspension and received no fine for marked lanes. He was also ordered to spend three days in jail.

Trena Cosgrove, 59, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for stop sign-school bus.
