National School Counseling Week 2024
National School Counseling Week 2023 is February 5-9, 2024. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February.
NSCW is a time to bring awareness to the important and unique contributions school counselors make within schools. This year’s theme is School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused.
Throughout the week, participate in different events to celebrate and advocate! To help you promote the week, WSCA and ASCA have developed many materials and documents that can be found below.
National School Counseling Week Breakfast Event
February 9, 2024
WSCA is excited to announce it’s 4th annual National School Counselor Week event, the NSCW Breakfast!
This celebratory event will include:
- A WSCA-led presentation on “The Role of a School Counselor”
- The announcement of our Scholarship & WSCPAR Awards
- A Keynote presentation on Equity in School Counseling
- Socializing & networking time
- DOOR PRIZES!
Join us for a morning of connection, learning, and celebration of our profession! With conference no longer being held in February, this is our mid-year opportunity to gather and re-energize!
No matter where you are in the state, we have an opportunity for you to join in this celebratory event. Choose toattend one of seven regional events in person or join virtually.

The NSCW photo challenge is always one of the most fun aspects of National School Counseling Week!
Download each day’s sign, take a picture, and post it to your social media channels with #NSCW24 & #WSCANSCW24. Follow #NSCW24 & #WSCANSCW24 to see how school counselors across the country are celebrating and for your chance to win prizes at our NSCW breakfast event on Friday, February 9th!

School Counselor Appreciation Messages
ADMINISTRATORS: While you celebrate your school counselors in your schools, WSCA works to share the love throughout the whole state. To help us do this, we are requesting that you take a moment to write a brief note in appreciation of your school counselor(s). Video notes are also welcome!
All the content we receive will be compiled and shared during this national week of recognition as a way to honor our state’s amazing school counselors.Please submit messages by January 31st.

In the weeks leading up to National School Counseling Week, WSCA will reach out to school administrators throughout the state and ask them one thing:
“Do you have any words of appreciation you would like to share with your school counselor(s)?”
In the past, we have received many wonderful responses, which have been shared during NSCW. Check back in January for messages from this year!
