Red and white from all the world over

Red and white from all the world over (1)

My Red and White Swap quilt all finished.

Except that I still need to make a label, because those beautiful red squares came from all over the world: 37 US States, Canada, Australia, Holland, Scotland, Malaysia, Slovakia, Israel, United Kingdom and Thailand! I want to remember them all in the years to come.

And remember this little goof-up block? I took some of your suggestions and gave it a place of honor on the back. It’s a keeper and makes me smile.

Also, last January, I joined Anne Marie’s Nine Patch Challenge

Red and white from all the world over (4)

…and my quilt is a nine-patch.

The deadline is September 1st so I made it by a little over a week. Whew! Thanks Anne Marie.

It's as beautiful as I imagined it would be! I'm tempted to follow suite, this is a perfect pattern for these beautiful reds, it's hard to imagine them any other way now...you've inspired me!

Just beautiful! I love the white stars against the red.

I just finished piecing my red and white squares too using disappearing 9 patch with a white as the center square so it becomes the little corner square of each d9p block. It's a gift for my parents, so I won't be able to show pictures until after Christmas! It's killing me not being able to show it off too!

Yours turned out just lovely!

Very clever, using this pattern for your 9 Patch Challenge quilt! It never occurred to me that it was a nice patch pattern until you mention it! This quilt is amazing and tells a wonderful story of quilting and friendships. The little polkadot block on the back is perfect! It looks wonderful all quilted. You have an amazing quilter, she does great work and is fast!
